Bringing together sports stars, celebrities, senior decision makers, influencers and global media, the BT Sport Industry Awards celebrates the very best work from across the sector.
The deal will see Socios.com become the Category Partner for the Fan or Community Engagement Award, in keeping with the platform’s vision to increase fan engagement for sports teams through the use of blockchain technology. Additionally, the BT Sport Industry Awards are committed to utilising the blockchain-voting technology that Socios.com has developed for special award categories at the 2020 event.
Socios.com is the world’s first fan voting platform for sports fans fueled by the digital currency $CHZ. Fans can buy branded Fan Tokens for their favourite clubs, and in exchange, receive access to voting rights, through which they can take part in club-specific polls and votes. As well as a portal for their voices and opinions to be heard by the clubs, token-holders will also receive team-specific and platform-wide rewards, and can buy and sell Fan Tokens on the app’s marketplace.
Last year, Socios.com announced landmark partnerships with French Champions Paris Saint Germain and Italian Champions Juventus, and will launch Fan Tokens for both clubs this year. More teams will be announced prior to the platform launch in Q2 2019.
