Flamengo, Palmeiras, Fluminense, and São Paulo launch cutting-edge collectible cards on Chiliz Chain

New “Cards do Futebol” collection, developed by six top-tier Brazilian clubs in partnership with the Chiliz group, promises to revolutionize the traditional habit of collecting cards using AI and blockchain

São Paulo, July 23, 2025 – Partner to the world’s biggest football clubs, the Chiliz Group, the world’s leading blockchain technology provider for the sports industry, has teamed up with six top-tier Brazilian clubs to revolutionize the traditional culture of collecting cards.

The new collection, called “Cards do Futebol”, transforms classic player cards into original and exclusive digital collectibles through an unprecedented approach: using artificial intelligence to generate unique random combinations, where there will only be one card with each possible combination of athlete photos.

The initiative features the participation of six major Brazilian clubs: Flamengo, Palmeiras, Internacional, Fluminense, Vasco da Gama, and São Paulo, each with three card models, one for each rarity level, developed with their own visual identity, inspired by the colors, symbols, and fans of each club.

With cutting-edge technology, the campaign not only innovates a traditional culture among football fans but will also allow the cards to be traded in a secure, reliable, and transparent secondary market. It is also the first of its kind to combine programmed scarcity, creative Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Fan Token staking in a gamified mechanic lasting six months.

“This campaign, conceived and created by six hands, together with our partner clubs and the Gotas Social platform, is another step towards innovation and integration of the most pioneering technology into the world of sports, and reinforces the Chiliz Group’s commitment to increasingly foster the SportFi ecosystem. Through greater utility and possibilities for using Fan Tokens, we continue to expand and innovate the way sports fans interact with their favorite clubs,” says Bruno Pessoa, Country Manager Brazil at Chiliz.

“The collection is an evolution of the ‘Proof of Passion’ campaign, launched by Chiliz in 2024. It was our first experience with digital collectibles for fans, and the results were excellent. We had the participation of over 30,000 football fans, who made more than 200,000 downloads of the clubs’ digital cards,” continues the Chiliz executive. “Now we are advancing, also bringing cards with real images of players, and a completely new dynamic for generating the cards, creating exclusive combinations and increasing the sense of scarcity of each asset.”

Exclusive AI-generated Cards

Each card will be generated by AI and illustrated with real photos of club players, following three levels of rarity: common, with six players per card; epic, with four players; and legendary, with three players. The images used are the result of a special curation based on studio photos provided directly by the associations.

Artificial Intelligence ensures that no two cards are alike. Players are randomly selected and combined at the time of minting, so that no combination of athletes is repeated throughout the campaign. Once created, the cards can be sold, traded, or simply displayed on the Gotas Social marketplace, a technology and digital collectibles platform integrated into the Chiliz Chain ecosystem.

Every 24 hours, fans will be able to mint up to one NFT per rarity per club, meaning up to three cards per club per day. This daily minting will be linked to the quantity of Fan Tokens the user holds in stake. Those with a stake of 1,000 Fan Tokens will be able to mint cards in all three rarities. Those with a stake of 200 Fan Tokens will be able to mint in common and epic rarities.

Staking can be done in two ways. Socios.com Wallet users must stake directly within the platform. After that, the minting process will be done through the Cards do Futebol website, also accessible through a new app that will be integrated into the Socios.com wallet itself. In addition to guaranteeing participation in the campaign, this staking also generates Reward Points within the app, and those who have already staked before the campaign began and have the necessary amount will also be eligible to mint.

Users with other wallets will be able to stake directly via the Cards do Futebol website, following the same participation criteria. Important: if the user withdraws Fan Tokens from stake during the campaign period, they lose the right to mint the cards.

In total, almost 200 athletes are featured, distributed among the six participating clubs in the campaign. Among them are Flamengo stars such as Arrascaeta, Pedro, and Leo Ortiz; Palmeiras idols such as Weverton, Gustavo Gómez, and Raphael Veiga; São Paulo references such as Arboleda, Lucas, and Oscar; and Fluminense athletes who stood out in the Club World Cup, such as John Arias, Fábio, and Thiago Silva.

In addition to aesthetic and technical innovation, the campaign reinforces Chiliz’s position as a global reference at the intersection of blockchain, sports engagement, and new digital economies. “By combining artificial intelligence as a tool that generates scarcity, and the security, transparency, and traceability of blockchain technology to enable the trading of these original, unique, and exclusive items, we transform the classic collecting culture into something monetizable and secure where more people can participate and benefit from the economy that revolves around the sports universe,” adds Pessoa.

  • Blockchain is the technology behind collectibles, ensuring they are authentic and unique;
  • Fan Tokens are like digital access keys to clubs, delivering exclusive rewards and experiences;
  • Staking is a way of “holding” these tokens temporarily to gain benefits, without losing ownership of them;
  • Minting is the process of creating an exclusive digital item, such as the cards in this campaign.
