Chiliz Group, the leading blockchain provider for the sports and entertainment industries, proudly releases the Insights Report for its Includ3d Accelerator program.
Launched in October 2024, the Includ3d Accelerator program, part of Chiliz Includ3d, democratizes Web3 learning for diverse sports stakeholders. It aims to foster inclusivity and deeper community engagement, particularly in community sports, women’s sports, and social impact organizations.
This program is central to Chiliz’s commitment to driving real-world utility through blockchain for a more open, inclusive future in sport.
The newly released report captures the reach, learnings, and outcomes from the first cohort of the program, which brought together 321 participants from 46 countries across 6 continents.
Key results
The insights from the report shows three core areas where Web3 is a powerful tool for social good in the sports sector:
- Decentralized Governance:
A key takeaway was the potential for Web3 to shift power from centralized authorities to grassroots initiatives. By using decentralized governance and funding mechanisms, communities are empowered to manage their own resources directly. - Fundraising & Philanthropy:
The accelerator program explored how “cryptophilanthropy” is transforming funding for social causes. By leveraging blockchain, organizations can overcome the inefficiencies and lack of transparency common in traditional models. - Financial Inclusion:
The program highlighted blockchain’s ability to facilitate secure, low-cost, and borderless transactions. This is a game-changer for international development and social impact, where cross-border payments can be a significant hurdle.
The report notes that following the program, participants and their organizations are taking concrete next steps. Of the six organizations from the cohort that were matched with blockchain experts, the program led to several direct opportunities:
- One organization was invited to apply for Chiliz Labs funding due to the potential seen in their use case.
- Another organization received advice specifically on DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) tooling infrastructure.
- One participant organization joined a sport and social impact DAO.
- Two organizations were accepted into a prestigious international program to continue their learning and engagement in emerging technologies.
More broadly, the Accelerator helped foster a growing global network of builders committed to using blockchain as a tool for inclusion, innovation, and social change.
“This report reflects a growing appetite to explore blockchain’s potential for good,” said Lucy Mills, founder of READY Sport Global. “It also shows how sport can be a powerful channel to introduce decentralised tools that promote equity, transparency, and innovation at community level.”
